Environmental Permit Applications

Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) was introduced in 2000. A large sector of British manufacturing industry is affected and must obtain a permit to continue or commence certain industrial activities.

In applying for a permit, operators must supply an extensive amount of information on the environmental aspects of their business - raw materials, emissions to water and air, waste, energy usage, noise, odour, site conditions, and also how they manage these aspects.

They must also identify and apply Best Available Techniques (BAT) to all their operations.

Since April 2008 IPPC permits have become known as Environmental Permits in England and Wales. Fundamentally there has been no real change in the way most processes are administered, but now an additional 27 processes subject to waste management licences have been incorporated. Andrew Vevers has been closely involved with 24  IPPC operations and can provide a full service for permit applications, or deal only with aspects which a company requires assistance. For for those operators who prefer, Andrew Vevers can provide training of personnel to enable them to complete their own application.
